An open letter to my Mom on her Birthday

Dear Mom,

Happy Birthday. You have been so many things to so many people over the last 60 years. You were (and are) a wonderful teacher. I can't even imagine the size of room we would need to bring together all of the people you touched through your career. Then, to add in your friends, family and acquaintances- we'd need a stadium. I couldn't be more proud to be your daughter.

You've been there for me through everything. Good things, bad things... and that sounds so trite... but it's true. :)

I was thinking about your other birthdays, and the other day you mentioned your 44th- the "cow" themed birthday... Do you remember the picture we took? We were all dressed in denim and bandannas and I'm pretty sure Brian was holding the gun from our Nintendo... And all those cows in the front yard were AWESOME.

I hope this birthday is wonderful I'm so glad I could be with you to celebrate. I love you, Mom.
